I am interested in large-scale anomalies in marine viruses as compared to their host counterparts. I am particularly interested in the role of marine snow as hotspots for viral ecology and understanding their relative importance as suppliers for viruses in the deep sea. I hope to use nanoSIMS and BONCAT laboratory methods to quantify microscopic viral-host phenomena that can be incorporated into biogeochemical global circulation models (GCMs).
