Research Interests

I am fascinated by the power of microbes in the global element cycles, that shape our world as we know it. My research interests focus on key microbes and their activity in aquatic ecosystems driving important environmental processes like methane oxidation. I am deeply convinced that we need to comprehensively understand the ecology and activity of microbes if we are to understand the past, present, and future of our planet.
