Research Interests
On the limits of life, viruses are masters hijacking the metabolism of every kind of cell in the world. In the last years, thousands of novel viruses have been discovered, but their effect on the natural populations is still beginning to be elucidated. Using single-cell and single-virus genomics, combined with metagenomics and other methodologies, I try to understand how viruses affect the living organisms, from an ecosystems point of view to an individual-cell level focus.
